Intelligent Energy Management Company GridPoint Names Betsy Cragon Vice President of Marketing

Cragon's experience includes building the presence of D.C. area companies Proxicom and ObjectVideo

WASHINGTON - July 12, 2005 - GridPoint, Inc., a provider of intelligent energy management (IEM) appliances for the home and small business, has named Betsy Cragon Vice President of Marketing. In that role, Cragon will be responsible for corporate branding, marketing communications, market research and demand creation.

Cragon joined GridPoint from CRAGON Communications, a public relations firm she founded, which continues to serve high-tech clients with a focus on using communications to positively impact revenues. While at CRAGON Communications, Ms. Cragon helped to build the presence of Reston-based ObjectVideo, the leader in intelligent video.

Prior to founding CRAGON Communications, she served as director of corporate communications for Internet professional services firm Proxicom, where she directed brand development, public relations and marketing communications programs. Within her first six months at Proxicom, Ms. Cragon's efforts enabled the company to claim the first Gold Clio awarded for Web site design, catapulting the company to the national stage. Four years later, Ms. Cragon's marketing direction helped spur Proxicom's growth from a privately held company with $4 million in revenues to a successful public company.

"We're extremely excited to have a person with Ms. Cragon's experience," said Peter L. Corsell, President and CEO of GridPoint. "Her ability to position and promote our innovative intelligent energy management products will be instrumental in fueling the company's growth."

Cragon's expertise also includes helping Fortune 500 companies such as 3M Health Information Systems and Toyota University reposition corporate and product messages in order to target new markets and launch internal branding initiatives. Additionally, Ms. Cragon's nonprofit experience includes the co-authoring of a prime-time speech for the 2000 Republican National Convention and the garnering of an exclusive interview with Barbara Walters. She has spoken about public relations strategies for the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) and the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).

Cragon has held advertising and marketing positions with Rogers & Associates Advertising, an acquisition of TMP Worldwide, and The South Florida Newspaper Network. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Advertising from the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Kent State University.
